So I am finally getting around to posting my interview with Bobby for you guys so here it goes:
What is your name?
Robert Thuemler
How old are you?
76
When were you born?
September 21, 1940
Were you ever married?
No
Why did you join the military?
Actually I was drafted. I was sent to San Antonio, Texas for basic training and from there I became a clerk typist and was responsible for medical maintenance for the Army. After that I either had to be sent to Vietnam or join a special project called the White Coats.
What were the White Coats?
They were a special project in which the army tested different diseases on me to see how they would affect me and to see my response to them.
Are you proud that you served in the military?
At first I hated it but now I am very proud of it.
Do you like living at the Veterans Home?
NO! It is very boring, people hardly talk more than friendly greetings in the hallways. No one spends time getting to know one another. The food isn't good either, I used to like it but not really anymore.
Do you have any siblings?
Yes 5 brothers
How many nieces and nephews do you have?
70
What is your favorite book?
The Searchers
What is your favorite color?
Blue
What is your favorite animal?
Dog
Do you have any hobbies?
I like to bake and garden
How did you meet Gabe (me)?
I was starting my second semester in ASL and I saw you sitting by yourself and decided to come sit by me, you looked like a good kid that I would like.
Why did you decide to help Gabe with this project?
After all he has done for me with teaching me computer and helping me in sign language, I wanted to try and repay you.
What is one thing you would like my readers to know about you?
I love everyone, and you gotta accept that some people are going to annoy you but you gotta keep loving them.
I hope for those who read this that they would feel a bit more connected to Bobby

That's too bad he doesn't like the Veteran's Home. That's why your project is so important. If you can get other kids out there, maybe guys like Bobby would't be so bored. Is the food that bad?
